How exciting - you're about to put up your new decal from Kulform! This is easy - so easy it can actually be a fun little family project. Perfect when it's time to label the toy boxes!
Important before you start
Make sure the surface is clean, dry and smooth. If the wall or furniture has been freshly painted, wait 2-4 weeks before applying.
What you need
A plastic scraper or a credit card - that's all!
Your decal comes in three layers
- Backing paper (the back - removed during application)
- The decal itself (the design that stays on the surface)
- Transfer tape (the front - helps you position the design correctly)
Step 1: Choose your position
Hold the decal up against the surface and decide where you want it. It helps to lightly mark where to aim the edge of the transfer tape when you get to the actual application (step 4).
Step 2: Prepare the design
Firmly rub the scraper or credit card over the front of the decal, over the transfer tape. This helps the design bond properly before you remove the backing paper.
Step 3: Remove the backing paper
Bend the backing paper away from the transfer tape and design, and slowly peel it away. The design should now stay on the transfer tape. If any part sticks to the backing paper, lay it back down and rub the front a little more.
Step 4: Apply the decal
Press the design firmly onto the surface and smooth it down with the scraper or credit card.
Step 5: Remove the transfer tape
Fold the transfer tape back on itself along the surface and slowly peel it away - don't lift it straight out. If any part lifts with it, lay it back down and rub a little more before trying again.
Done!
Air bubble? No worries! Gently pierce it with a thin needle and press the air out toward the hole. The tiny hole won't be visible and the bubble will disappear.
