How to choose the right eyes for your robotic lawnmower

Your robotic lawnmower works hard. Of course, it needs a look that matches its personality! But with several models to choose from, how do you know which one suits your robot?

Here are three tips to help you choose the right one.

Choose based on personality

The first step is to consider who your robot really is. Many people give their mower a name, and that can give a first indication of which eyes might suit it!

Do you have a happy and easygoing robot that perhaps needs a little extra flair? Then the Cute eye model is an obvious choice - built-in eyelashes and a soft, rounded expression that evokes a warm feeling in everyone who encounters it on the lawn. If you want the eyelashes separately and a little more freedom to place them, the basic model with eyelashes is available for purchase.

Is your robot a spry and alert type who keeps an eye on things? The Alert model has lashes in both directions and a distinct, watchful expression that suits mowers regardless of temperament.

Does your robot identify more as a dragon, predator, or reptile? Then Tough is the way to go - a dragon-like gaze, black framing, and an expression that keeps the neighbors' mowers at a respectful distance. If you complement it with fangs, it's a done deal!

And for the robot that's just right - a little happy, a little curious, a good friend in the garden - the basic Robotic Lawnmower Eyes model is a safe and stylish choice. You can adjust the gaze yourself to be curiously looking up, more modestly down, comically crossed, or fully focused straight ahead!

Consider available surface area

The next question is how much space is actually available on your mower. Robotic lawnmowers vary quite a lot in size and shape, and this affects which eye model works and looks good.

Cute and Alert are the models with the most lashes and they take up a bit more space. They work best on a spacious, flat surface where they can spread out. The Tough model, on the other hand, is wider and lower in shape and is particularly suitable for surfaces with a more horizontal character, even on more compact models.

A toy lawnmower also looks good with small eyes.

If you have a small robot, pool robot, robot vacuum cleaner, or a smaller lawnmower, Eyes for small robots are available in a format that fits better. The same design as the basic eye model where you can set the direction of the gaze yourself, but adapted for smaller surfaces. On both of these sibling models, it is also possible to orient the eye either horizontally or vertically depending on the available surface, preference, and taste.

One thing to keep in mind regardless of the model is that the decor adheres best to completely smooth surfaces. If your mower has a rough patch, a seam, or a sharp "kink" in the chassis, right where you intended to place the eyes, you may need to reconsider. A smooth and flat surface as a base where eyes and other decor are placed gives a more attractive result and better adhesion that lasts longer!

Consider color

The third factor to consider when choosing eyes and other accessories for your robot is the robot's color, and here contrast is key.

The basic Robotic Lawnmower Eyes model and Eyes for small robots have white whites of the eyes that extend to the edge of the eye. They look perfect against dark or strong colors - a black Husqvarna, a dark green mower, or a colorful robot. Against a white or very light surface, they might disappear a bit.

The Alert, Cute, and Tough eye models all have a black outline, which makes them perfect for light and colorful surfaces. Against the darkest mowers, the contrast might be a bit weak, and then the basic model is a better option.

In short: light mower → choose a model with a black outline. Dark mower → choose the basic model or small eyes.

Here's the summary in an educational table!
