Sometimes a product starts with a rather unexpected email. This is the story of Greta Gräs – and why today there are eyelashes for robotic lawnmowers available from me at kulform.se.
An email from Jerry
Already in the summer of 2019, Jerry contacted me. He had found eyes for robotic lawnmowers in my webshop and wondered if there were possibly any eyelashes to buy! He had a lawnmower named Greta Gräs and felt that something extra was needed to match the beautiful mower she was! It was as if something was missing when she "only" had eyes.
When an idea simply won't let go
This was a problem that really needed to be taken seriously. You can't help but love hearing a request like this from Jerry and Greta. The world needs more of what makes it a little more fun, more alive, and reflects personality!
So I started sketching.
What do eyelashes on a robotic lawnmower look like? They needed to be clear enough to be seen, but not too bushy so that they would be difficult to fit. Playful, but not exaggerated. And most importantly – they should match the eyes!
Quite quickly, I had a shape that felt right.
Greta got her eyelashes
When the eyelashes were ready, Greta Gräs received her upgrade. And somewhere there, I realized that this probably wasn't just a one-time thing.
Because if you have a robot that has already been given a name and a personality... then it's not a big step to want to give it an expression too.
Since then, eyelashes for robotic lawnmowers have been part of my product range.
Of course, not all robots are called Greta. In fact, just how beautiful Greta looked with her eyelashes - we can only imagine from what Jerry emailed and described in words. In the picture, you have Doris, another mower that has received both eyes and eyelashes, and perhaps is a little like Greta!?
There's something special about being met by a little "personality" out in the garden instead of just a machine driving around. It simply becomes a little more fun then!
